Chairman's Message

Sam Ochieng
Chairman

On behalf of the board of directors and the entire team of Kenya Overseas Business Alliance (KOBA), it gives me the pleasure to thank each one of you for coming to the inaugural launch of KOBA. Your presence at the event was not only a joyous moment for us in KOBA, but an expression of your interest in doing business and exploring investment opportunities in Kenya. I would like to especially thank our chief guest (Hon) Peter Kenneth, MP - Kenya's Assistant Minister in the Ministry of State for Planning, National Development and Vision 2030, H.E. Ephraim Ngare, Kenya High Commissioner in the UK and all the staff at the Kenya High Commission.

KOBA's launch gives us solemn responsibility in the Diaspora, which we are determined to honour faithfully.

“The unveiling of Kenya’s Vision 2030 was timely and well aligned with KOBA’s ambition of enabling a just, equitable & economically prosperous Kenya”

Strategy & Operation

Martin Koyabe
CEO

KOBA’s strategy and operations will not only focus on creating niche business and investment opportunities in Kenya, but will aim to encourage both Kenyan and non-kenyan investors based in the Diaspora to individually or collectively get involved and commit themselves in realizing their own economical aspirations.

Our expansion strategy is already underway with KOBA-USA launch planned for next year. We hope to keep engaging with the Diaspora and make a difference for our country Kenya.

“Kenya’s economic development is like fine art work in progress with hidden surprises”
Shiru Mwangi
Director

Marketing & Partnerships

As a business and investment facilitator, it is essential for KOBA to engage with strategic partners and stakeholders who share similar core values and objectives. Kenya is an emerging economy that can create wealth through long-term economic development. This is achievable through collective responsibility, innovations and better trading policies that are ethical and sustainable.

In KOBA, we believe that philanthropy, corporate and social responsibility practices should be
encouraged. We will therefore continue lobbying our government to give incentives such as tax rebates and other concessions to individuals and organisations that generously give back to the local communities.

“The enactment of the Kenyan Constitution will create a better environment for investing and doing business in Kenya”

Kenya - Country Representative

KOBA in Kenya

KOBA operations in Kenya have been growing steadily from strength-to-strength in the past year. Our main task has been to forge strategic partnerships with local businesses and investors in various economic sectors—agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, retail, ICT, energy, transport, housing, banking and financial services—and in doing so, articulate KOBA’s value-add in engaging them with the Diaspora.

Recently, Kenyans voted overwhelmingly for a new Kenyan Constitution. The enactment of this constitution will create a better environment for investing and doing business in Kenya.
