The Brand Kenya Board CEO Mary Kimonye will be coming to London next week (27th September 2011) to deliberate with Kenyans the idea of establishing Kenya Hospitality House during London 2012 Olympic Games. She will be meeting the Diaspora and discuss their involvement during the Olympics, especially raising the profile of Kenya, the services that the Diaspora can render to the “House” to deliver and showcase Kenya’s culture and art, tourism, fashion, property, cuisine, commerce and trade
The meeting’s outcome aims to inform the government on how we can maximize the opportunities offered by the Games to market the country to the whole world. The Kenya High Commissioner will co-chair the meeting.
According to the Central Bank of Kenya, remittances to Kenya in August 2011 amounted to nearly US$ 80 million, which was about 53% higher than the same level in August 2010. Read full report here. Tweet
